free open source graphics-image manipulation package

free photoshop-like software

by Kenneth Rudich

I’ve stumbled upon a free image manipulation software package with Photoshop-like features and functionality.

It’s called GIMP and it can be downloaded here.

If you’re unable or unwilling to purchase a comparable package but want or need something infinitely more powerful than Windows Paint, GIMP is a very attractive alternative.

The Gimp site also provides tutorials for using it, and they periodically offer version updates as improvements are made.

If you give it a try, let me know what you think.

Best regards,
Ken
